New Tutorial - Dainty Spring Necklace

This sweet necklace is a great way to add a bit of sparkle to your almost-spring wardrobe. Designed for us by Erin Siegel, these combine sparkly crystals and bits of silk ribbon with the ease of waxed linen. Very nice!

New Tutorial - Flower Fireworks Earrings

This new tutorial we sent out to our Dispatch readers last week uses pretty Swarovski Margarita beads set into these flower dangles I love. I have liked this dangle for years...and used it a lot. Isn't it funny how we can return, time after time, to the same component and it always does something new?

And don't forget the Blog Hop De-Stash! Read the rules here, post every day for your best chance to win.

Try It Tuesday with Glittery Swarovski Earrings

We haven't given you the sparkle of Swarovski in a Try It Tuesday for a while, so come on down this week and create a glittery pair of earrings to keep or give to a friend!  It's always $2.00 per project and don't forget to check out the video tutorials for past Try It Tuesday projects on the Try It Tuesday page of our website:  http://www.ornamentea.com/TryItTuesday/TryItTuesday.html

New project for you!

This project features a simple Elaine Ray bead matched with some super-sparkly Swarovski chain. It's perfect for wearing on those rainy days when you're tromping around with those skinny jeans tucked into the your rain boots. Or, in my case, that flowery dress paired with the flowery rain boots. Personally, I think that 2 or 3 of these stacked up with each other, different colors of chain, different Elaine beads in the center, would be really sweet.

See the instructions and the new colors of Swarovski chain right here...and our chain is made in the U.S.A. but of course, the crystals are genuine Austrian Swarovski crystals. We do not import the Chinese 'Swarovski' crystals at all.

Everyday Wrapped Bracelet How To

This is called the Everyday Wrapped Bracelet because I have worn at least one, everyday, since I made the first one. I can't help it. They sit right there on my wrist, showing off a perfect Elaine Ray bead and a bit of waxed linen. I have made them with ball chain and with the Swarovski crystal chain. They are both lovely. I stack them up or wear them alone.

Um, yes, I may just be a bit obsessed.

See the entire tutorial here.

Earring of the Week - Sparkly!

Are you looking for something sparkly to make for New Year's Eve? This might be just the pair for you. They are sparkly enough to be festive, but not so glittery that you couldn't wear them for dinner with a friend in late January, and then to a concert in March, and to Mother's Day brunch in May...

You'll need:
openwork leaf and branch connectors in antique brass
Palace Green opal Swarovski chain
crystal chain ends
8 mm black diamond Swarovski rhinestone  balls
1 " antique brass head pins
tiny metal spacer beads (or use crystal beads in a color to match the Swarovski)
antique brass simple ear loops

For information on how to close the crystal chain ends, please see this tutorial

These lovely earrings were made by Tracey Johnson.

Something I am working on...

Actually, it might be 'something I have finished.' I can't decide. On the one hand, the chain and Swarovski looks great and the clasp spaces it out nicely on the wrist. On the other hand, um, it's just not done. At least, I don't think it is...
Any ideas? More chain? More crystals? Move on?
And it's a bracelet.
And, I was making this for a Dispatch* for Thursday or maybe Sunday.  Now, however, the turquoise chain is sold out. We have about 8 more colors being made (right now) for us at the Magic Crystal Chain Factory and we hope they'll be here by Friday.
For now, however, I can't use this project for the Dispatch. So I might want to call it 'something I have finished for now' and move on to the next projects...
Oh, the link for the ball chain is here, the crystal chain is here. And the ball chain fits in the crystal chain ends, by the way.

And I am off to make something else...
