How do you feel about unmatched earrings?

  1. I think it depends. Is it a purposeful mis-match? Is there still fluidity from one ear to the other; style, color, shape, design?
Or does it look like someone dressed in the dark and grabbed two different earrings without taking time to check? Or just didn't care that they did?
I guess, in the end, it depends on the designer/wearer? I have one pair (for now) that have a "mis-match) in that the main bead is the same, the accent bead is different while still having the same color. (one is a disc one is a diamond shape) It was on purpose, but it's not obvious. The picture you show still works. It's got fluidity and purpose even if it doesn't "match" in shape or all the colors.

  2. It's funny you posted this because lately I've been making lots of mismatched earring pairs. I think they are so much fun and visually interesting!

  3. I love unmatched earrings. That is probably obvious as I have two holes in my right ear lobe and one hole in my left ear lobe.

  4. Love them! And it looks like you are using ribbon ends to hold the bead strands. Wow! Great idea.

  6. Um, how is it possible for you to be The Crazier Sister? That's ME!!!

(thanks for all the comments! I wear mostly stud-style earrings after spending the 80's hosting those long, shoulder-dusters + Janet's entire key collection. But I do love to MAKE big earrings!)
