Let it snow! Beaded Snowflakes

We have had a lot of fun the last few years with these beaded snowflakes. They are made on metal forms and you can use any kind of beads. Seed beads, druks, Swarovski crystal, it's up to you. They are so pretty, too.

At our house we often don't have a tree. We have a small space and no room for it. We do decorate for the holidays, though, with roping on the windows and wreaths on the doors. I do like the pine smell.

We have hung these snowflakes in our windows and I will leave them up way through January. I don't know why a snowflake has to say 'Christmas' when it really should say 'Winter!'

If you have your own bead store you should sell these snowflakes. If you are a civilian reader of my blog, well, come see me and I will hook you up with the forms. It's not too early to get winter going.

New beads at Ornamentea

We put out a mix of acrylic (resin) beads at Ornamentea today. It's lovely, kinda shimmery. These were samples that our folks at the magical land of plastic (i.e. Manilla) sent us to order for Spring. We think they are lovely NOW so we went ahead and put them out. A deal at 20 cents a gram, don't 'cha think?
I'd use them in earrings or for not-too-heavy fall necklaces that look chunky. They have a shimmery, matte surface. Kinda like an eyeshadow.

Betz's Acorn Fun

It's a certified heat wave fall here on the East Coast. It was eighty-something today, October 9th. Huh? Betz is really suffering, she just recently relocated to our warmer area from the icey upper Midwest. Sorry, Betz. It's hard to get used to. I am still trying.

So Betz made these lovely little wooly acorns. Nice. I made a whole bunch of them. My daughter was thrilled to pick up the caps for me and I pretended it was cool outside. I may just try to make some soup tomorrow. Can I serve chili with ice in it?

Visit Betz's site for a million other great ideas. She has a book coming out soon that I am very eager to see. Oh, and obviously this photo is stolen from her site, that's her lovely vase, not mine. She also has great taste in shoes.
