Lovely necklace! I really like the materials you've used and the asymmetrical design.
If it was me I'd probably continue with the cording because I'd like to keep the softer feel of fabric rather than using metal. Maybe it could be combined with more button links and/or beaded embellishments? Not to much, but just enough to make the cording less bare.
I've been meaning to buy that type of cording for so long but never got around to it. Now I got an inspiring reminder -- thanks!
I would crochet a band, something a little bit lacy. But that said a ribbon would be nice and soft. Or some fat yarns and eyelash yarns braided together. I'm very into the braided rope style lately and have plenty of yarn in my stash to do so :)
Hmm...I would think something loopy. Like a button with a button hole. That is a great organic design. I love it!
