Felt restock...

We've restocked our wool roving and felted balls. We received 11 giant boxes from Nepal on Friday and if you heard loud cheers and whoops of joy, that was us, opening box after box of bright, wooly beauty.

This sweet felted bird project by Andrea Sousa is a wonderful way to use wool roving, NOW with spring just around the corner a bird on a nest is a wonderful way to welcome the season.

A few other great ways to use felt and wool roving in the spring:

make a felted flower headband
felt a doll
make a felted soap

New project for you!

This project features a simple Elaine Ray bead matched with some super-sparkly Swarovski chain. It's perfect for wearing on those rainy days when you're tromping around with those skinny jeans tucked into the your rain boots. Or, in my case, that flowery dress paired with the flowery rain boots. Personally, I think that 2 or 3 of these stacked up with each other, different colors of chain, different Elaine beads in the center, would be really sweet.

See the instructions and the new colors of Swarovski chain right here...and our chain is made in the U.S.A. but of course, the crystals are genuine Austrian Swarovski crystals. We do not import the Chinese 'Swarovski' crystals at all.

Sweaters

This is my friend, Crispina. She makes sweaters and rugs and amazing blankets. She is also having a sale in her etsy shop. Yeah, I know that spring, Spring, SPRING is coming but honey, it will be cold again in the fall. Or maybe on Friday. Her fab sweaters make me so happy when I wear them. We have one of her amazing potholder rugs that warms my toes every day when I get out of bed.

Crispina has been doing the recycled/upcycled wool thing for ages. She's not some wet-behind-the-ears hippie chick. She kind of invented the whole thing. I'd call her the Grandmother of Sweater Reuse but she's not exactly a grandma.

I met her in the early 90's in the cavernous Javit's Center in NYC. We were doing a trade show together and she was so beautifully intense and so honest about everything. Plus, she makes an amazing spaghetti sauce.

Go check out her etsy shop and treat yourself.

Try It Tuesday with Waterfall Earrings

This week, we have a great beginner wire work project!  The style of these sweet earrings can be adapted to so many different beads.  Did I mention that it's only $2.00 per pair to make them?
