Here are some pics of the newest shipment of Antique Brass findings we just got in from the platers. We have these pure brass findings (made in the U.S.A., just for us!) vibed and lacquered to get them to look just right. The lacquer is a skin-safe formula that wears beautifully. We have to sort the findings once they come back from the platers-they do their magic to the bits and pieces in a giant, spinning tub.
It saves money to have them tub plated and the finish is nicer, I think. It is silkier and looks better. The sorting is a pain, but it's worth it.
