Earring of the Week

These mirrored earrings match EVERYTHING. Okay, maybe that is not actually funny except to me. Anyhow, the mirrors will reflect whatever you are wearing or seeing that day. If you want to tone down the shiny mirror surface try sanding the back side of the mirror with a bit of sand paper to remove some of the coating. Voila! Instant vintage mirrors.

What did we use?
13x18 oval mirrors
13x18 antique copper bezel settings
antique copper ear wires
antique copper cable chain
copper cast birdies
4 mm coppery or bronzy glass beads
antique copper head pins
antique copper jump rings

We attached the mirrors to the bezels with a tiny drop of Diamond Glaze. You could also put an image or colored paper on the back of each of these bezels.

I love those tiny 3x4 mm oval jump rings. They are just the thing to attach dangles very discreetly. See them there at the top of the chain? No, that's not a chain link, it is just a really small jump ring. Perfect.

Don't forget, we have a template for all our bezels right here. Free for you.

Vintage flowers and leaves make me happy...

We have acquired these lovely french beaded flowers and leaves in soft wedding whites and crystals that are really making my head spin. I keep thinking of ideas for ways to use them on earrings, on the front of a filigree locket, on a ring. Oh-oh-oh...

See all the flowers here...I'll have some projects next week, maybe several!

And I know, these flowers aren't so hard to make but these are DONE and that is kinda nice! I am tempted to cheat a bit and use some of these leaves to make a ring like the Monkey Garden ring I am teaching at Ornamentea on May 21st. In that class, we'll make our own leaves but maybe an all-white garden would be nice for a monkey?)

If you want to join me for the Monkey Garden Ring, call the store at 919-834-6260. We use the oval screen rings to bead on. The class isn't up yet on the website, but we have started a sign-up sheet.

Something else I have been working on...

I have been working on this necklace using Japanese rayon crepe cording and beads...oh, and these fab 3 mm felt balls...

I just can't figure out how to finish it...chain? ribbon? more button links?
